ECOMMERCE WEB SITE SUCCESS TIP 2 – Build networks, Build Backlinks

Most ecommerce experts would ask, “What is your long term goal for your online store?” Or better yet, “Do you have a long term goal for your ecommerce store?”

How would you answer this question? If an expert says, “focus on the non-commercial side of the business first”, would you think that’s crazy? Would you think that it is ironic knowing you were in fact in this industry so you could make money?

You intend for your ecommerce store to grow, to reach as many consumers as possible, to make a handsome profit, and to build a good reputation or brand name that will carry on throughout generations. If this is not your goal, then indeed you will not see the underlying benefit of holding off the profits until several months or years later. Investing on the backbone of your business may actually require that initially, you should focus on building relationships with other merchants. In other words, build backlinks!

I’m sure many of you will end  up skipping this note and going elsewhere, thinking it’s ridiculous. Backlinks are essential for your ecommerce store. There are many many ways to work on this. And yes, there are merchants who can get away with building good backlinks while still making good profit even as a start up. Are you one of them?
